Bambi Cantrell

This was so awesome!!! Tonight I got to spend sometime on a webinar with Bambi Cantrell and her buddy Jim Garner. It was a small group only about 5 photographers, so it was very intimate. Bambi covered lighting, posing and even looked at a few of our photographs for critique. Bambi said she would like to do more of these in the future so stop by her blog, I bet she will post when she does the next one.

Thanks Bambi it was super cool.

Mystic 3

On Monday I took an early morning drive down to Mystic, CT for Mystic 3. I got to see some photographer friends from all over and got to finally connect with another local photographer Tony Yu. While in Mystic I also got to meet Doug Boutwell who showed us some sweet photo shopping stuff. There was also an amazing group of photo speakers that covered topics from branding to travel. After the full day in a hotel ballroom with the air pounding down on me my cold doubled up on me and now I feel so much worst.

The Feds in NH

I hope everyone had a great week! My older brother came up from VA with his wife and the boys this week. The whole group of us headed up to NH during the coldest week, it was wicked cold, -10f on our first day there then warmed up to -5f. It was great hanging out with the family here are a few photos and a couple of videos. Yep that is me falling in one of the videos while snowboarding only time falling and I got it on tape LOL.
Both families came back with very bad colds the whole family is sick now, not fun. But at least we had a good time in NH.

Layla had a fun time climbing up the mounds of snow.

Awesome News!!!

This past fall I made my way out to NYC for The Revolution Workshop where I got to meet so many awesome photographers. I had a great time while I was in NY, I got to stay with my buddy Ryan who I posted about earlier today and see NYC for the first time(ya I know pretty sad, I've drove through many times just never stopped) The Revo crew and wedding photographers from all over of the country hit the city and shot some amazing couples.
I know your all thinking where am I going with this one, you posted about this before. While you've probably known we pulled our site down this fall since all the photos that were on the site were from a few years ago and I have grown so much more as a photographer since then. I've been trying to redo our site for a while now, but since the holidays and all of my web software(Flash, Dreamweaver..) are on my Windows computer(don't get me started Bill Gates) I haven't got much done with it. So when I heard I WON a site from Big Folio (one of the workshop sponsors) I was psyched!! Here is the news over at The Revolution blog I'm putting the site together now and I hope to have it up very soon. I also have a new thing in store for the 2008 season so you need to still stay tune as more up dates will come.

Hanging with some new friends

This afternoon I ventured out of the house, hitched a ride on the T and headed into Boston to meet up with Melissa Jill, Keri and Bob. It's always great to meet up with other photographers in the industry, to hear others thoughts, concerns or just to hang with people that love the same stuff.

Keri, Bob and I gave a two hour tour of the Haymarket and Northend to our tourist toting her camera. Despite the cold (20-30 degrees) and added wind we ran into Ben Fraklin a guy claiming to be Potts-Thompson(I think he just had a little to much) but what trip to Boston wouldn't be complete without being asked for money from someone. Ben got five bucks to have his photo with Melissa so check her blog to see it.

Awesome meeting all of you we need to get together more often.

Resolutions, Not me

If you are into Resolutions and making a list for this year check out this short article at ehow.com

Think about it, why do we all try to make resolutions in the middle of winter right after such a crazy holiday season? The article talks about shooting lower in stead of aiming high how crazy would that be if everyone just settled for something lower, just to say they did it. Why not aim high and if you don't hit the make, restructure your plan and keep trying.

I have made a list of goals/dreams I would like to accomplish in the next few years.
This is no resolution but a list of goals that I will be shooting for and keep trying till I hit them.
I have seen many in the photography community do these lists and it is a fun way to track progress. I'll post my list later this week.
